Britt Vegsund is an educator and health promoter who is passionate about helping schools reach their potential as supportive, engaging and inclusive communities. Britt supports schools in the CCRCE with Health Promoting Schools funding, physically active learning and after school programming.
James Shedden is a Consultant with Public Health (Healthy Communities) supporting the Health Promoting Schools Team with CCRCE. James is fortunate to work with a stellar team of professionals supporting Health Promoting Schools in Northern Nova Scotia.
Shali Manuel is a Youth Engagement Coordinator within CCRCE. She has been part of the Health Promoting Schools Team for close to 10 years. A big part of Shali’s role is to support student-led positive change projects at schools. kamilah (kah-MEE-lah) is a Youth Engagement Coordinator, artist and researcher that loves to support youth focused projects. her 19 years of youth engagement practice is formed by Black, Indigenous, queer, and grassroots knowledge keepers that she grew up with.
Allana is a Public Health Nutritionist who helps to create nourishing school environments that allow students to thrive. She is passionate about body positivity and empowering children and youth to have a healthy relationship with food.
Olivia is a Public Health Nutritionist with the Health Promoting Schools team. She is passionate about the role that food and the school environment play in supporting the wellbeing of students and our communities. Olivia is proud to be part of work that helps create more supportive school food environments where youth are nourished to learn, grow, and thrive
Cam is a Youth Health Centre Coordinator supporting SCA and the HPS Team. He is currently supporting the Student Engagement Training and the Aberdeen Health Foundation Funds. He is also running several groups at SCA (GuysWork, Garden Club, Wellness Committee, GSA, Dungeons and Dragons, and Cooking Club), and would love to swap ideas, if you are looking to run any of these groups at your schools!
