Year 10 Business Studies

Students in Year 10 have recently been learning about Franchises. This is a great topic for students to understand and learn about how large organisations offer ordinary individuals a chance to own their own outlet. The likes of Mcdonalds, Dominoes, KFC and Subway all operate franchise branches. Although franchise fees range from £100,000 - £500,000 it is an excellent way for students to develop their dreams of being a franchisee.

Students are studying Edexcel Business Studies.

Micro Tyco

A number of groups from Year 10 have been busy writing up their proposals for a national competition - Micro Tyco.

Micro-Tyco is a leading global entrepreneurship competition which challenges young people to work together and develop innovative solutions to address The United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

Entries have now been sent and we await the outcome....best of luck Year 10s.

Year 11 GCSE Business

The content for the specification has now been fully delivered for GCSE Business Studies. Students have worked hard and have had feedback following their recent mocks. Interventions have started during form time to assist those that need support with difficult topics. This will give them the best possible exam practice for the final exam.

Year 11s have also been given a booklet each containing key terminology, and formulas needed for the exam. In addition a section has also been inlcuded with key questions and model answers. Students are encouraged to use this booklet alongside their revision notes.

Year 12 BTEC Business

Students in Year 12 are preparing for their first external exam which takes on 11th & 12th May. Unit 2 Developing a Marketing Campaign includes a variety of topics such as research methods, SWOT analysis and Product Life Cycle.

We wish all of the students good luck for this exam.

Year 13 BTEC Business

BTEC results from the January entries were released this week. Well done to all those that sat the exams - pleasing set of results!!!

Year 12 A Level Economics

Students in Year 12 have recently completed their Macro conten. They will now start their micro economic content. They will be soon conducting a gem for government failure. We wish them good luck for this!!!

Year 13 A Level Economics

Students in Year 13 have completed both Macro and Micro content and are preparing for their upcoming exams. They are working hard and we hope they will achieve grades so that they will get into their chosen universities.
