Year 1 learnt about ‘Digital Imagery’ this term. They planned a pictorial story together as a class and used cameras to take photographic images. They learnt the importance of putting the pictures in sequence in a story. They understood how to take clear photographs and were also able to edit them by cropping, recolouring and resizing them. Children can also search for an image and are able to add a clipart to their chosen image.
Year 2 learnt about ‘Stop Motion’ this term. They made their own flipbooks. They used software called ‘Open Shot Video Editor’ to create their own stop motion project. They understand that an animation is made up of a sequence of photographs and small changes in frames can create a smoother looking animation.
Year 3 learnt about ‘Video Trailers’. They understood the purpose of trailers and were able to create a Video trailer for a book called ‘Where the Wild Things Are’. They know the importance of different camera angles when taking a photo. They used a software called ‘Open Shot Video Editor’ where they imported photographs and recorded their voices to go with the video.
