ENGLISH
This term Year 2 have been super busy producing such incredibe writing pieces. Pupils read the book Augustus and his smile, which was about a Tiger who lost his smile and went on an amazing adventure to find his smile.
Our pupils also read the book Beware of Boys, which was definitely a class favourite. A book full of laughter, fun and entertainment. Pupils had the fun task of creating a recipe for 'Boy Cake', where they had to think of an unusual method that had strange ingredients.
Snake Workshop!
An exciting visitor came to visit 2AR this term! Mrs Ravi's sister and Psycha the snake came to share fun facts about corn snakes. Our pupils had the most exciting time, learning mind-blowing facts about the reptile and even had the opportunity to touch her. All the excitment geared up our children to write a fantastic story about Psycha in their English lesson. This was a memorable day for 2AR!
MATHS
Our mathematicians have worked extremely hard this term. They have learnt the properties of 3D shapes discussing the faces, edges and vertices of each shape. Children also had the opportunity to hunt around the school finding 3D objects. Our pupils also learnt how to read and show time, learning o'clocks, half past, quarter past and quarter to clocks.
Design & Technology
Our children have successfully designed and stitched a beautfiul pouch for Augustus to keep his smile safe. Pupils have throughly enjoyed their DT sessions and learned how to sew a running stitch aswell as drawing, cutting and joing fabrics together. We hope to see our children practise their stitching skills.
Here are 2AR's final pouches! We are very proud of their creations!
