This term at NPS we have launched a social emotional initiative linked to the story 'The Colour Monsters'. In every classroom there is a colour corner where the pupils can self check-in daily to share how they are feeling. All classes have brainstormed their own wellbeing class toolbox which has ideas on how to help everyone stay happy and be ready to learn.
The pupils have been excited to learn that they can use their class 'SHARE' a worry box if they need to share a worry with an adult. The pupils know that they are supported by their teachers and this is another way of communicating their feelings when they have a big worry they need help with.
Well done children for using this so well!
The Wellbeing Hub launch has been a great success as pupils have enjoyed this calm and nurturing space during their lunchtimes.
We look forward to sharing more of what goes on in this hub in the next newsletter!
School Parliament have been busy this term helping to support with the launch of the Wellbeing Hub and they have given their time to help set-up and lead the lunch time sessions for their peers.
Thank you School Parliament for being great role models for everyone at NPS!
For Anti-bullying week, all pupils learnt about what bullying is and what steps to take to tackle these behaviours. In particular all pupils learnt about what the term 'bystander' meant and how they can ensure they are not bystanders if witnessing an unkind behaviour.
Well done NPS for working well during these lessons and using your role-play skills to act out scenarios to explore different roles.
