Our Year 2 pupils have had an amazing start to the year and settled in very well. They have worked extremely hard putting in maximum effort across all subjects and produced fantastic work this term. We are looking forward to seeing their progress throughout the year!

In Maths we partitioned numbers into tens and ones. We used our knowledge of partitioning to add and subtract numbers. We also challenged our partners to play the 3 digit addition dice game.
In Science, our pupils learned about 'MATERIALS'. We discussed the different properties and textures each material has. As part of our classroom display, our scientists created 'texture hands' using a variety of materials and texture words such as 'smooth, rough, bumpy, opaque and stretchy'.
In Geography, we learned about the different types of wind: North Wind, East Wind, South Wind and West Wind. We also learned about the four seasons in the UK ‘Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter’. We discussed the weather patterns during the seasonal changes.
Our Art sessions have been full of colour, laughs and mess! Pupils had the opportunity to learn art techniques such as repeating patterns, frottage and tonal shading. As part of our final outcome our artists sketched a 3D drawing, using dark and light tones!
2JK have had a fun Halloween art session!
They practiced their crafting skills but cutting and decorating a bat.
