What is happening in Gurmat Lessons?

Year 7

Over the first half term, our Y7s have been learning about the important teachings, Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji made on Sikhism. Students have been looking at the importance of the three principles, Naam Japna, Kirat Karna, and Vand Ke Chakna and how to apply the teachings to their daily lives.

Year 8

Our Year 8’s have been looking at the roles of Hukam and Karma in life after Death. Students have been looking at specific Saakhis on how past actions have a direct impact on their future actions. Students have further explored the role of Hukam in our lives by debating if humans live in ‘Gods-will’ or ‘Free-will’.

Year 9

Year 9's have been studying about the importance of prayers. They have been studying how and why to pray to God. Students learned the different uses of prayers in Sikhism, such as the Laavan and Ardas. Students have further gone to study pieces of Gurbani and why they were written.

I hope you have a wonderful half term break!
