Year 10 students have been busy understanding and calculating business concepts such as revenue, fixed and variable costs, profit and loss, interest and break-even points. This week they have further developed their understanding in group tasks set to reinforce these concepts.
Year 11 students have come to the end of their 5th Topic: Marketing and are being prepared for their end of topic assessment.
There has been an increased focus on exam techniques with students working on 6 marker and 9 marker exam questions. On a weekly basis, students have been completing exam questions and results are being fed back to students along with areas for improvement. Model answers are being displayed in Google classroom and students are being encouraged to revisit this outside of class time. Going forward, Google Classroom will be regularly updated with support materials to help with final exams.
Year 12 Business students are being prepared for their external assessment taking place in January. This week the students have sat a mock assessment in preparation for their assessment. This assessment will be marked and feedback will be given to further support them.
External assessment will be taking place on 12th and 13th January 2022.
Year 12 Economics have been working on 15 and 25 marker exam questions in preparation for their mocks. Students have been exploring macroeconomic topics which include both structural and demand deficient unemployment. They have also been learning about the link between both interest rates and exchange rates.
Year 13 Business & Economics students have sat their mock assessments and will continue with the syllabus and exam techniques in the new year.
