On Thursday 18th November we celebrated Gurpurab. The children came in traditional outfits which they talked about with each other. We went to the Gurdwara for a special assembly and joined in with Paarth, Shabads and Kirtan.
This term we have been learning about different countries. We began by reading the 'Handas' Suprise' story and the teachers and children worked together to create an African Mud hut that Handa lives in. They learnt about different aspects of African life including getting water from a well, African food preparation and animals.
This term we learnt about food from around the world. We learnt about the countries France, Italy, China and Mexico, talking about their flags, traditions and food. Then we had the chance to make and eat food from each country including making our own pizza, butter and tasting some delicious noodles! We had a great time.
We learnt about road safety this term and how to cross at a crossing safely with an adult. We learnt to stop, look, listen and think before crossing the road and to only go if it is clear and there are no cars. We practiced on the crossing outside the school.
