Portfolio Submission Information

Due to limited seats available in the Honors Art I class at Houston High School, students cannot enroll in class without formal acceptance by HHS art teachers based on portfolio review.

The Honors Art I curriculum is for advanced and dedicated art students who are serious about a rigorous high school visual art program with priority given for incoming 9th and 10th graders.

Portfolio Requirements

Students will present a digital curated collection of 5-10 recent pieces of artwork for review. This may or may not consist of your best art projects from your art class, but should also include work that shows an advanced level of skill. Click here for a step-sheet on how to create and share your digital portfolio for submission.

Sketchbooks, *drawings from direct observation, and work created outside of your middle school art classes are strongly recommended.

*In addition to other work in the portfolio, please include at least two drawings from observation, NOT from photo references or your imagination.
