Dual Enrollment
Dual Enrollment (DE) courses allow students to participate in college level courses conducted during the school day on the HHS campus. Students are “dually enrolled” in high school and the postsecondary institution. Dual Enrollment courses use University of Memphis, Southwest Community College, and UT Martin curricula and Tennessee state standards. Admission requirements set by the post-secondary institutions must be met to enroll in DE courses. Click here to download the Dual Enrollment Agreement

When I login to TigerXpress through the MyMemphis account it shows that I owe a large amount of money.
Grant money has probably not yet been applied to the student account. It is best to wait until you receive an email from Mrs. Kinney letting everyone know that student accounts are ready for payment. Grant money is not applied to student accounts until after the grant application closes.
Do I receive extra points on my average or GPA in a Dual Enrollment course?
Yes, students will receive four (4) points added to the quarter grade and one (1) quality pointed added to the weighted GPA. Extra points and GPA weighting will only apply to the HHS grade, not the post-secondary grade. Also note that not all HHS grades may be factored into the grade reported to the post-secondary institution.
Can I drop a Dual Enrollment course?
Dual Enrollment courses have added constraints on dropping courses that are enforced by the post-secondary institution. Houston High School must adhere to those drop/withdrawal dates without exception.
The university I am attending says they do not have my University of Memphis, Southwest Tennessee Community College, and/or UT Martin Dual Enrollment transcript, grades, and credits.
