School Social Workers are licensed and/or certified mental health providers who can assist with mental health concerns, positive behavioral support, academic, and classroom support, consultation with teachers, parents, and administrators as well as provide individual and group counseling/therapy. School Social Workers provide services related to a person's social, emotional and life adjustment to school and/or society.
~~~~~~
School psychologists partner with families, teachers, school administrators, and other professionals to create safe, healthy, and supportive learning environments. To do this, School psychologists can: provide direct support and interventions to students; consult with teachers, families, and mental health professionals to improve support strategies; work with school administrators to improve school-wide practices and policies; and collaborate with community providers to coordinate needed services. They help schools successfully improve Academic Achievement and promote Positive behavior and Mental Health.
~~~~~~
School Social Workers and School Psychologists are the link between the home, school and community in providing direct as well as indirect services to students, families and school personnel to promote and support students' academic and social success.

My job:
Being a safe, confidential person for students to talk to about challenges inside and outside of school
Helping students and families find resources to address situations that are making life and school more difficult
Supporting students in advocating for themselves to get the resources and tools that help them thrive in school
Working with the rest of the West Glocester Elementary team to help students to be successful.
I am at West Glocester Elementary school Monday through Friday 8:30am-3:30pm
About me:
I have been a school social worker for over 10 years now and was lucky enough to join the West Glocester Elementary Team in October of 2023. I have been loving getting to know the students, faculty, and families of this wonderful district!
Being a school social worker is important to me because I think that students succeed best when they are set up with the tools to overcome their many obstacles and I am here to help them build their toolboxes!!
