Project-Based Learning

Students in first grade launched their first project-based learning unit with a Skype session with their "adopted" elephant, Ronnie. Through literature and science, students will learn more about animals and their needs. Students hosted an animal-free circus event in order to raise funds for Ronnie!

Children Around the World

Through literature students are learning about how children around the world go to school. Students are able to understand the similarities and differences about children their age across the globe. Their partnership with Reach the World enhances this unit by Skyping on a weekly basis with their travelers from Germany and India.

SPOTS

Class 1-109 was "spotted" being positive school citizens 15 times. As their reward, they chose to cut Mr. McAuliffe's tie!

1st Grade Dances Around the World

1st grade partnered with Marquis Studio for a 12 week residency. Students learned creative movement and a choreographed dance to African music.

1st grade celebrates being 100 days smarter!
