GIIS International Day of Yoga 2023 

Welcome to GIIS Tokyo for our special International Yoga Day Celebration!

We welcome each one of you to participate in the GIIS 2023 International Day of Yoga Celebration. Beginners and experienced, all fitness levels WELCOME!!

Yoga is an ancient physical, mental, and spiritual practice that originated in India. The word ‘yoga’ derives from Sanskrit and means to join or to unite, symbolizing the union of body and consciousness.

Today it is practiced in various forms around the world and continues to grow in popularity.

Recognizing its universal appeal the United Nations proclaimed 21 June as the International Day of Yoga.

Every year, starting in 2016, GIIS Tokyo has been celebrating Yoga Day. It has now become a tradition that students, teachers and parents really enjoy and look forward to.

Parking: The number of parking spaces at the Edogawa Athletic Stadium is limited. Please be informed that if you arrive by car at the event, you may not be able to park. To avoid inconvenience to the neighbourhood, parking is prohibited in the area around the stadium.

Time: 9:45 ~ 11:30

What to bring: Your own rubber yoga mat or any other material to place on the floor to attend the Yoga Session. Please, dress in comfortable attire.
