It’s been a morning of joy and celebration at Rosebery School in Epsom, with the Class of 2025 securing exceptional GCSE results - with a third of all entries being awarded a Grade 9 or 8 (A*), and half of all entries securing a Grade 9 to 7 (A* or A in previous grading system).
Rosebery girls were awarded 128 Grade 9s in Maths and Science alone!
Remarkably, 91% of students achieved a Grade 4 or higher in both English and Maths, with over 80% of students achieving a Grade 5 or better in both subjects.
Along with the exceptional A Level results the school celebrated last week, 2025 has proved to be a record-breaking year at Rosebery, where the average GCSE Grade is now 6.4 with an Attainment 8 Score of 64.
Had there been Progress measures this year, the Class of 2025 would comfortably have been in the top 5% of schools nationally based on these record results at GCSE.
Highlights of the impressive results include:
Iris Aryeetey - 10 x Grade 9
Eilidh McFarlane - 10 x Grade 9
Sara Vartak - 9 x Grade 9
Jessica Kilbride - 9 x Grade 9
Nicole Bermudez - 9 x Grade 9
Freya Bedford - 9 x Grade 9
Rowan Waine - 9 x Grade 9
And special mention to twins Grace and Hannah Black who achieved 15 Grade 9s and 5 Grade 8s between them!
“We are delighted to be celebrating Rosebery Girls achieving truly remarkable GCSE outcomes today. The Class of 2025 should be incredibly proud. These record-breaking results are even more special, given the incredibly tragic and difficult academic year it has been for the entire Rosebery School community. I must also praise all the staff at Rosebery, who have once again gone above and beyond to ensure that these results were possible, and that our girls received the very best care and support - #RoseberyProud.”
David Lach, Headteacher
"We are so proud of the fantastic results that this year group have achieved. From when they started in Year 7, mid-pandemic, to now, these students have shown their incredible resilience and determination. While many are now looking ahead, they should never forget what a feat of endurance the GCSE exams are. The Year 11 Team would like to thank the teachers and families that have supported them every step of the way and once again congratulate Year 11 for pulling it out of the bag. We wish them a wonderful rest of the summer, and we are delighted that so many of them will be back for the Sixth Form!"
Lauren Newman, Head of Year 11 (2024-25)
"Another remarkable and joyful Rosebery Results Day! Our girls' determined and courageous approach to their studies has once again led to outstanding achievements."
