Grades: Your overall grade is 20% Formative (classwork) and 80% Summative (quizzes, tests, etc.).
Any classwork not completed during class time must be completed as homework and submitted by the following class.
Summative Corrections: All summative assessments are eligible for corrections to improve your understanding. After each summative assessment is graded and returned, students have 2 weeks to contact their teacher and schedule a time to meet and correct their assessment. Successful corrections will earn back ½ credit.
All students who intend to come in for retakes will need to complete a Retake Request Form indicating how they will practice to improve their skills before reassessing.
Attendance: When you are absent, it is your responsibility to learn about missing work & assignments. First go to your class Schoology course. If you still have questions after visiting Schoology, you may contact the teacher or reach out to a classmate.
Late Policy for Formative assignments (classwork):
1 or more day late = 70% of the earned grade
Academic Dishonesty
Classwork: If a student copies, shares answers, plagiarizes classwork, or **uses translation websites & online dictionaries excessively, the student will earn a zero with the opportunity to redo the assignment for full credit.
If there are multiple instances of academic dishonesty, disciplinary actions may include verbal warnings, contact home, and/or detention.
Quizzes & Tests: If a student cheats on, copies, or shares answers on a quiz or test, they will earn a zero until they redo the assessment (for up to full credit) and the teacher will contact home.
**A presentation about how to properly use online dictionaries & translators
will be provided in the beginning school year.
