Block 3 ELA Class

• During block 3, EL students have been exploring how to find the right books for them. Each month, students are expected to work on the monthly reading board. Make sure students are reading a fiction book. 

• Also, we have discussed the writing process. Students will be expected to write in an ELA journal when instructed. 

• We have started Language! Live program which is an interactive language program to enhance English proficiency. Students will work on an independent component of text training (blue box) for 75 minutes weekly. Please make sure to have students work on it at home.

Guided Studies

• During A1, students are expected to record daily homework in their assignment notebooks. Also, they need to make sure all the papers from the classes are played in the correct colored folders. (Red: SS, Green: science, yellow/orange: ELA, blue: math, purple: A blocks)

• During Middle School Success lessons, students had lessons on the following: 

  • • How to handle their iPads

    • Using Notability for taking notes

    • Using and organizing lockers 

    • Introduction to Schoology
