Welcome back! I hope your family had a wonderful summer. We started the year by learnig about culture. Students made their own flag to represent themselves and they are hanging around the classroom. If you come to parent night, see if you can find your child's flag! We have moved onto our first unit which is about the 5 themes of geography. Students are working on explaining why Chicago would be great for an event (major sporting event, concert, museum, etc....) based on the 5 themes of geography. These projects will be due on Tuesday, September 15th. Next, we will be moving onto geography skills that include map reading.
