The purpose of the course is to smoothen the transition between fifth form and sixth form, and by extension, CSEC and CAPE. That said, it functions as a way of assimilating learners into college learning, and also entails activities and goals such as:
reading and understanding large quantities of information presented from textbooks, articles, classes, seminars, etc. for varying subject areas, which are primarly focused on academia;
presenting their own opinions and ideas based on knowledge gleaned from these learning apparatus;
functioning as independent learners who are willing read and review material, and engage with assessments without being prompted by a teacher;
effectively navigating online classrooms to facilitate timely preparation for internal and external examinations and assessments;
demonstrating initiative in their involvement in clubs and societies, both as functional members and leaders;
representing Glenmuir and its ethos both on campus, and in national and global arenas;
presenting a model to which first to fifth form students aspire; and
embody what we believe are the attributes and characteristics of the Glenmuir Student.
All learners are expecting, through this classroom to stay firmly attached to the online platform that is created for them, since it functions as:
connect with coordinators, teachers and clubs;
receive updates on events through the Google Calendar; and
keep abreast CAPE through stream announcements.
