HOMEWORK POLICY
Students are asked to read 20 minutes every night. Research shows that reading daily directly affects academic success! This year, I have encouraged my students to take the 40 BOOK challenge! They are logging their reading in the classroom by number of pages, genre, and books completed! Their goal is to try and read a wide variety of books this year!

They are logging their reading in the classroom by number of pages, genre, and books completed! Their goal is to try and read a wide variety of books this year!
I will occasionally send home a math worksheet or journal page for homework if I feel that the students need additional practice or if they did not finish their classwork. Students will soon receive a set of multiplication flashcards to practice at home. Fact fluency is a MUST for 5th grade! Once they are ready to show mastery, they will receive a new set. I ask that students practice their facts every night!
