ART DEPARTMENT MISSION

The mission of the Glastonbury Art Department is to empower all students 

    to develop as creative, flexible, collaborative, innovative problem solvers,

 and confident thinkers, who demonstrate artistic literacy, and can 

contribute a unique vision to a dynamic global society.

ART DEPARTMENT PHILOSOPHY

The Glastonbury Art Department believes that all students can be successful in the visual arts through their engagement in the artistic processes. The arts program is accessible to all students and challenges them to explore self-expression through their personal artistic vision at a variety of skill levels.

 Through research, exploration, experimentation, collaboration, revisions and reflection, students show their artistic growth and ability to problem solve as they develop and complete original works of art. Participation in the art program helps students to consider multiple points of view while appreciating and understanding various cultures and ideas.  

We believe engagement in the Glastonbury Art Program empowers students to successfully and creatively approach future challenges as contributing citizens and life-long learners.
