¡Bienvenidos!
Upper School | Spanish Teacher
ABOUT ME
I've been at ACAGJ as the Inventory Finance Specialist for the last 2 years but this is my 1st year teaching Spanish. My wife is a 2nd Grade teacher here at ACAGJ and we have 4 children, 2 cats and a dog. I graduated from Mesa State College (now CMU) in 2007 with a degree in Applied Professional Spanish. I am a native of Colorado and have lived here in Grand Junction since 2002, and grew up on the front range.
Outside of school I enjoy hiking, mountain biking, leading worship and playing guitar, coaching, and attending activities my children are involved in.
I love being bilingual and the opportunities and relationships that knowing another language brings. I am excited to get to share this love of languages and cultures with students here at ACAGJ.
GET TO KNOW ME
My favorite book or books rather are The Lord of the Rings Trilogy. I love the themes of courage, friendship, adventure and good conquering evil, that are found in these books.
My favorite subject is Spanish....¡por su puesto! I love that there is so much culture (from 21 spanish speaking countries) and the family oriented nature of latin american cultures.
What I love most about Ascent is the emphasis on educating the whole young person. Not just offering knowledge but training the mind and heart by focusing and developing virtues within as well.
For fun I like to go hiking, mountain biking, spending time with my wife and kids, paddleboarding, fishing , and camping.
