G Suite for Education

Tutorial Site


The GISD G Suite for Education Tutorial Site has been created to provide staff, students, and teachers with support and tutorials to successfully implement the G Suite for Education platform.

This site includes general information on "going Google", as well as, tutorials and support documentation for Chrome OS Devices, such as Chromebooks, Chromeboxes, and Chromecast Dongles, G Suite Apps, Google Classroom, Clever SSO and Badges, and GoGuardian Classroom Management Suite.

CHROME HARDWARE DEVICES

Chrome hardware devices at GISD consist of two types:

  • Chrome OS devices, such as Chromebooks and Chromeboxes
  • Chromecast media streaming devices

Chrome OS devices are fast, intuitive, and easy-to-manage computers that connect students and teachers with the power of the web. While Chromecast media streaming devices allow teachers and students to connect their GISD Chromebooks or Chromeboxes to classroom LCD projectors or TVs.

As we expand our Chrome OS hardware inventory, information will be provided for those devices.

G SUITE APPS

The G Suite Apps for Education consists of web-based tools that allow easy collaboration by creating, sharing, and editing files on the same page. G Suite apps work on any device, anywhere, and anytime. G Suite apps currently available for GISD staff, students, and teachers are Google Drive, Google Doc, Sheets, and Slides, Google Sites, Google Forms, Google Keep, and Google Hangouts (Staff and Teachers Only).

CLEVER SSO and BADGES

Clever provides single sign-on capabilities for many district applications. Most apps automatically sync with Skyward to provide an amazing experience for district administrators, teachers, and students.

GOGUARDIAN TEACHER

GoGuardian keeps students safe when they're online, helps teachers engage with their students, and provides schools with better control over how their technology is used. With GoGuardian, educators can harness the power of the internet for learning, without harmful content or distractions getting in the way.
