About Me

Teaching and Education Experiences:

  • This is my first year teaching middle school Language Arts and I am very excited to be here at 1-R! I graduated with my Bachelor's in Elementary Education from UNL in December 2007 and then substitute taught there until 2008. I began teaching in August of 2008 at GIPS in 5th grade. While there I earned my Master's Degree as a Reading Specialist Prek-12. I also was a middle school and high school volleyball coach while here. I was at GIPS until August 2017 when I switched to teaching 4th grade in Central City until moving to Northwest. I began helping to coach middle school club volleyball this last winter with Northwest and my girls had an amazing season! I am so very excited to be a part of the Grand Island Northwest family!

My Family:

  • I grew up in Arnold, Nebraska on our family farm/ranch. My parents are still on the home place as well as my older brother, his wife, and their 4 girls. My younger sister, her husband, and their 2 (almost 3) kids live in Valentine. I also have a daughter of my own, Lagan, who is almost 5 years old that keeps her dad and I very busy! We are a very close family along with our 2 golden retrievers, Marlee and Mazi.

Interests and Hobbies:

  • I am a very adventurous person that is usually willing to try anything. Some of my favorite things to do are play/coach volleyball, read, anything on a farm/ranch, hang out with my family, and spend time with kids. A few things on my bucket list are: to skydive, bungee jump, travel in Europe, and be on 'Price is Right'!
