Reading- Module 9 Week 3
Yum! America's Sproutings
This week in Reading you will read the poem, Yum! America's Sproutings. In your packet you have the Module 9, Week 3 flash cards to cut and practice. You also have the Words to Know worksheet, the reading test, and an ABC order page. I have assigned your words for this week on Spelling City. This is a fun way to practice your words. You can access your reading book online. Be sure to select the HMH Into Reading Virginia Grade 01 Program. Username: student lunch number, Password: P@ssw0rd (a=@, 0=zero)
MATH
This week we will complete our unit on counting coins. You should be able to recognize a quarter and identify it's value. You have two worksheets in your packet to help with this. You will also be ready to take the Money Unit Test. Although you do not have to be able to count quarters in a group of coins, it will be very beneficial if you are able to count 4 quarters: 25, 50, 75, 1.00. Another skill that will help you tremendously is to practice counting with one quarter. The most difficult is one quarter with a dime (25, 35, etc.) Any practice with quarters will put you ahead for second grade! I have posted videos to help and I will post assignments in IXL.
SOCIAL STUDIES
This week we will continue our Economics Unit. We will explore the difference between goods and services. There is a Brainpop Jr. video, as well as two other videos to help you learn the difference. By clicking on the button below you can access our Social Studies book. You should listen to Chapter 8. After you have watched the videos and listened to Chapter 8 in our book, complete the two Boom Card activities.
