Welcome back students and parents, to what is going to be a very fun and successful year at Meridian Elementary.  As you know, this is my first time teaching third grade, but have 20 years experience in 2nd grade.  I have a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership with a Principal’s Endorsement.  I also hold “Master Teacher” certification in Accelerated Reading, and am trained in Sheltered Instruction and Performance Based Assessment.

I was born in Texas, but have been living in Arizona for the past 30 years.  I attended Northern Arizona University, in which I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education. I have 4 children:  Karleigh who is 22, Taylor who is 18, and Sarah and Savannah who are  both 15.  All of my children are proud attendees of Gilbert Public Schools! 

I can’t tell you how excited I am to have your child in our class again!  I look forward to maintaining our positive and safe learning environment in which each child feels comfortable and willing to contribute freely.  I also look forward to interacting with each of my parents again.  As you know, we are all on a team, with our main goal to continue each child’s development in being lifelong learners.
