The Gates Scholarship

The Gates Scholarship is a highly selective, full scholarship for exceptional, Pell-eligible, minority, high school seniors. The scholarship will be awarded to 300 top student leaders each year with the intent of promoting their academic excellence through college graduation, and providing them the opportunity to reach their full potential. Scholars will receive funding for the full cost of attendance* that is not already covered by other financial aid and the expected family contribution, as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aide (FAFSA) An ideal candidate will have: 1) An outstanding academic record in high school (in the top 10% of his/her graduating class), 2) demonstrated leadership ability (e.g., as shown through participation in community service, extracurricular, or other activities), 3) Exceptional personal success skills (e.g., emotional maturity, motivation, perseverance, etc.).

QuestBridge National College Match

Questbridge College Match looks to connect bright, motivated low-income students with educational and scholarship opportunities at many top tier colleges and universities around the country through the 2018 National College Match Program. Students in the top 5-10% of their class with a combined family annual income of less than $65,000 can apply to multiple schools with one application by September 27, 2018 at www.questbridge.org. Flinn Foundation Scholarship

Flinn Scholarships are provided to 20 of Arizona's highest-achieving students annually for undergraduate study at Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University, and the University of Arizona. Each award provides nearly the full cost of study for eight semesters, study-related travel opportunities, faculty mentorship, exclusive meetings with leaders across a spectrum of disciplines, and a community of high-achieving peers. Merit, demonstrated by academic and personal achievement, is the basis to select Flinn Scholars.

As a general rule, Flinn Scholarship applicants should: 1) Participate and demonstrate leadership in a variety of extracurricular activities, 2) be in the top 5% of their graduating class, 3) have at least an unweighted 3.5 GPA, 4) have at least a 1300 on the old SAT (CR+M) or 1360 on the new SAT (ERW+M) or minimum 29 composite score on ACT, and 5) be a U.S. citizen (or legal permanent resident) and an Arizona resident for at least two years by the time of entry to the university.

AES Engineers Scholarship

Colgate "Haz La U" Scholarship

Hispanic Heritage Youth Awards

Recipients are selected for their accomplishments in the classroom and community, and for their focus on various categories. Recipients are awarded up to $3,000 in educational grants to be used for their college education or to fund a community service effort. Three recipients will be chosen from each of the following categories: Business & Entrepreneurship, Community Service, Education, Engineering & Mathematics, Healthcare, Innovation & Technology, and Sports & Fitness. Applicants must be a current high school senior, graduating in the Spring/Summer of 2019, planning to enroll in college in 2019-2020, be a U.S. citizen/Permanent Resident/qualify under DACA, of Hispanic/Latino descent (at least one parent), minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale), willing to travel at own cost to the awards ceremony in Phoenix.

Wendy’s Heisman Scholarship

Horatio Alger Scholarship Program

This scholarship program provides financial assistance to students who have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity and who aspire to pursue higher education. Criteria are: be enrolled full time as a high school senior in Arizona; graduate in May 2019 and expect to attend college in Fall of 2019; plan to pursue and complete a bachelor’s degree; demonstrate critical financial need - $55,000 or lower adjusted gross family income is required; be involved in co-curricular and community service activities; display integrity and perseverance in overcoming adversity; maintain a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.0; and be United States citizen. Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship

Online application requires making an account. This foundation selects 150 Coca-Cola Scholars (high school seniors) each year to receive $20,000 scholarships. Applicants must be planning to pursue a degree at an accredited U.S. post-secondary institution and carry a minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA at the end of their junior year of high school. Coca-Cola Scholars are well-rounded, bright students who not only excel academically, but are also actively involved in their school. These leaders are passionate, service-oriented, and demonstrate a sustained commitment to bettering their community.

VFW Voice of Democracy

Students compete by writing and recording a broadcast script on an annual patriotic theme. This year’s theme is, “Why My Vote Matters?” Contestants should record their reading of the draft to a CD (between 3 and 5 minutes).
