Summer Reading Program
STEP ONE: Read whatever you want
Here are some reading ideas/sugestions if you are interested.
STEP TWO: Fill out the Summer Reading Form
(Form opens on May 27)
STEP THREE: Pick up prizes at the start of the 22/23 school year in the library
1 book = choice of bookmark
5 books = Campo tshirt
10 books = a new book
GRAND PRIZE = 1 ticket to Homecoming
The person who reads the most books will receive the Grand Prize.
REPEAT As much as you would like!
Read and submit forms through July 22, 2022.
Why read?
Besides the fact that reading can be fun and calming for many people, it is actually the number 1 factor in a student's academic success! Reading exposes you to new vocabulary in context. Also, the more reading you do, the more your brain gets practice with comprehension (without you probably even realizing it!). And those two factors make up the majority of reading achievement. And study after study has found to show that a student's reading achievement correlates with success in school (Cullinan, 2000).
That's why your librarian, teachers, and administrators at Campo Verde High School want to promote recreational reading!
