The transition to sustainable transportation is gaining momentum worldwide, with electric vehicles (EVs) and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (HFCVs) emerging as key technologies for reducing carbon emissions and dependence on fossil fuels. This Faculty Development Programme (FDP), sponsored by AICTE-ATAL Academy, offers a basic yet comprehensive introduction to the evolving landscape of green mobility. Designed for faculty members, researchers, and professionals, the FDP will cover the fundamental working principles of EVs and HFCVs, key components such as batteries, motors, controllers, and fuel cells, and the essentials of energy storage and refuelling infrastructure. Participants will also be introduced to recent developments, government policies, and future trends shaping the e-mobility sector in India and globally.
The objectives of this Faculty Development Program are to:
Introduce the basic principles of electric vehicles (EVs) and hydrogen fuel cell vehicles (HFCVs), including working concepts and configurations.
Familiarize participants with the key components, including electric motors, batteries, controllers, and hydrogen fuel cells.
Explain the fundamentals of energy storage, conversion systems, and the role of charging and the hydrogen refueling infrastructure.
Provide an overview of the current status, opportunities, and developments in the EV and HFCV technologies.
Create awareness about the challenges, policies, and government initiatives aimed at promoting clean and sustainable mobility in India.
