Reading:
You need to read at least 3 x a week to an adult. For some of you, this may be time to discuss your book and talk about unfamiliar words. An adult needs to write in your reading record and sign it.
Try these things...
Share read a book- take turn reading sections of a book with an adult
Read the same book as a grown up or friend and discuss it
Read something different e.g. a newspaper, magazine (Kids National Geographic is very good), a non-fiction book, poems, articles from the Newsround website
Read outside
Follow instructions to do, or make, something
Jot down unfamiliar words, make sure you know what they mean then you can use them in your writing
Get a grown up to ask you questions about the book- there are some on your school bookmark
ENJOY IT AND READ DIFFERENT THINGS!
