We will be reading the Harry Potter books. Our daily read along will be starting with Book 1: Harry Potter and the ( Philosopher) Sorcerer's Stone.
If possible, try and have your own book set so you can keep it in your home library and reread it anytime you like.
If you are unable to get a copy right away, you read online in our Google Classroom.
We will be having fun projects to while we read the books. We will create quizzes, Would You Rathers, comic strips, and a lot more.
At the end of each book, there will be a fun book report project such as a cereal box book report, making your own magic wand, creating a shoe box diorama, making your own movie posters, creating a virtual Hogwarts common room, and much more.
Here is a photo album of some Harry Potter cereal boxes created by 5th grade students from last year. After they made their cereal boxes, they created their own commercials.
When we finish reading one book, we will have a movie day where we will get to watch the movie.
After that we will compare and contrast the book and the movie based on the book.
We will also have fun book trivia games during the year to test your Harry Potter knowledge.
By the end of 5th grade, all students will become Harry Potter experts and excellent readers.
