I am a Georgia Southern University graduate with a major in Secondary Education - English/Language Arts. I have always loved literature and writing, but what often surprises people is how much I enjoy the grammar and mechanics side of English and Language Arts, too! I have found such joy in teaching and working with young learners. I have worked as an Ocean Rescue beachfront lifeguard for the last decade, and helping and leading the rookies and younger guards through that department is just one component that guided me to the teacher education program. Explaining and teaching things to people and then watching them take that Information and not just succeed with It but make a difference in the world is a practically indescribable feeling. My student teaching and field training experiences have also been very rewarding. I have begun to find my rhythm as an educator and determine what works and doesn't work for individual and differentiated students. I plan to continue on this path for many years to come.
