Welcome to our research group's home page!
We are broadly interested in proteins -- their structures, functions, and potential to be molecular targets in various diseases. Currently, our work focuses on protein tyrosine phosphatases (PTP), a superfamily of phosphatases that regulate cellular phosphorylation. Several PTPs have been identified to be involved in various diseases. We are interested in finding inhibitors for these PTPs (including PTP1B and PRL3) and also developing chemical probes for other members of this superfamily.
This group welcomes and encourages diversity!
We are grateful for all the support that allow us to pursue our curiosities: NIH/NIGMS R16, the Vertically Integrated Projects (VIP) Program at Georgia Southern, and Start-Up support from the department and COSM at GS.
Our lab is located in the Science Center (SC 2309) in the Armstrong Campus of Georgia Southern University in Savannah.
We are part of the Department of Biochemistry, Chemistry and Physics within the College of Science and Mathematics.
We are always excited to collaborate! Don't hesitate to get in touch!
