Connecting Career Interests to GISD Pathways
Go to Classlink and click "Eduthings."
Click "Careers."
Go to your saved occupations.
Choose the occupation you are most interested in.
Go to "see details," then click through the "related programs in Georgetown ISD."
On your 9th Grade Course Selection worksheet, write down the freshman level course you would need to take for that program of study.
You will each receive a "passport" to take to the EVHS elective fair. The class with the highest percentage of completed passports will win a class party!
Today, you will complete your passport cover and check off the pathways you are most interested in.
STEP 1: At the EVHS elective fair, each Tippit 8th grade student will visit at least one pathway in each of the five endorsements.
STEP 2: In order to get a stamp on your passport, you must ask questions (i.e., "What is the best class you have taken in the Health Science pathway?")
STEP 3: The goal is to get at least five different stamps from each of the five different endorsement pathways!
STEP 4: Teachers will collect completed passports on the bus when we leave the elective fair. DO NOT LOSE your passport.

East View counselors will visit 8th grade classes to discuss the transition to high school, answer questions, and guide students through the 9th grade course selection planning document. You will have time to make adjustments and have conversations with parents about your course selections. You will use your personal graduation plan (log in to Map My Grad from Step 1) to help guide your 9th grade selections.
