SFS HOYA STARFLEET
SFS Hoya Starfleet provides a platform where Hoyas can gain knowledge about scientific policies of past and contemporary governments through panel talks with experts in the field and book discussions. It also helps Hoyas gain access to scientific and science policy related resources for their Honors Thesis, FYP, and researches. The club seeks to be a platform where Hoyas can indulge their inner science geeks and have fun in the process.
Encourage research in science policy of governments by advertising available resources on both campuses, relevant conferences, and how to gain funding for research.
Increase awareness about the importance of science policy know-how for future leaders, especially policies like cyber security, energy policy, and nuclear policy.
Stimulate discussion on latest scientific news, literature, and legislation that affect future governance.
Remind Hoyas that they can incorporate science in their curriculum and their campus activity while still pursuing BSFS.
Provide information through panel discussions, interviews etc that highlights the role of science in foreign policy and as part of foreign relations
