Mental Health Society
Welcome to the MHS site! We are happy you're here. You can find our club missions, events, resources, and more about us here at the site. If you have any inquiries, please don't hesitate to contact us through the feedback page or through email. We are looking forward to seeing you at our events and working together to spread awareness about mental health!
VISION
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), one in five people suffer from some sort of mental illness. Our goal at MHS is to spread awareness with regards to the importance of mental health, eliminating the stigma and discussing the issues related to it such as depression, stress, anxiety etc. We hope to work towards ending the stigma associated with talking about such topics and seeking help especially amongst the youth. We work with the Health and Wellness department here at Georgetown University Qatar to educate others, ourselves and have intellectual conversations with one another.
MISSION
Our mission is to raise awareness mainly on campus about the aforementioned issues. Our goal would be to ensure students not only care about their own mental well-being but also of the friends and family around them. We want to make sure everyone in our community and beyond feels comfortable in expressing themselves. To do so, a great step is to maximize the utilization of the counselling services available at Health and Wellness on campus.
