On Feb 27, GWIA launched its inaugural Ambassador Dinner Series. Our first host was Ambassador (ret.) Barbara Bodine. This series aims to bring together small groups of current students, alumni, and career diplomats, to provide a space for women in the Georgetown community to explore careers in foreign service and international affairs.

Ambassador Bodine
Ambassador Bodine, is a Distinguished Professor in the Practice of Diplomacy and concurrent Director of the Institute for the Study of Diplomacy at Georgetown University. Before joining Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, she taught and directed policy task forces and policy workshops on US diplomacy in the Persian Gulf region. Among other stations, she served as Ambassador to the Republic of Yemen from 1997-2001, as Deputy Principal Officer in Baghdad during the Iran-Iraq War, and as Deputy Chief of Mission in Kuwait during the Iraqi invasion and occupation of 1990-1991.
