We collaborate with Maijuna hunters using interview and participatory mapping techniques to understand hunter decision-making and demonstrate the sustainability of Maijuna subsistence hunting practices. These analyses are rooted in social and ecological theory, but are influenced by culture. We examine decision-making while actively hunting in the forest, all the way through to what hunters do with game meat that they harvest.Â
