Our club holds the vision of celebrating the Arabic language heritage through debate. The Arabic Debate club aims to promote debating in Arabic in order to increase the richness of the language and make its use more common within the Georgetown student body. Moreover

• Promote different debating mediums

• Because debate-style differs in Arabic, we need to expose them to different styles of debating

-Give students an opportunity to promote their Arabic debating skills with the collaboration of a professional debate organization, Qatar Debates

-Qatar Debates offers unique debating skills in Arabic that are not easily found anywhere else

-Give students the opportunity to apply what they are learning in Georgetown’s Arabic classes in the debate tournaments, since they are conducted in formal-spoken Arabic

-Give the Arabic language a bigger platform at GU
