Alexes Merritt is a research associate at Georgetown University's Disease Ecology Lab headed by Dr. Shweta Bansal. She specializes in infectious disease dynamics and health equity. She has contributed to peer-reviewed work on COVID-19 vaccine disparities and has served as a teaching assistant in modeling and epidemiology courses. Her research sits at the intersection of computational biology, policy and equity.
Alexes holds a Bachelors of Science of Foreign Service in Science, Technology and International Affairs (with a concentration in Biotechnology and Global Health) from Georgetown University and is currently preparing to apply to medical school. She remains committed to public health through both academic and applied policy work.
