ABOUT

Raju Ahmed is currently pursuing a Master's degree while serving as a graduate teaching and research assistant in the Department of Geography, as well as a graduate academic assistant in the Sauder School of Business at the University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada. He holds his Masters's and Bachelor's degrees in geography and environment from Jahangirnagar University, Bangladesh. Since 2016, he has acquired a wide range of academic and professional roles in national and international organizations, significantly contributing to the field of geoscience. His involvement spans various initiatives, collaborations, and leadership positions, reflecting his growing influence and expertise in the discipline. However, his core research focused on combining contemporary and advanced geospatial technologies (i.e., Drones/UAVs, GIS, RS, geostatistics, machine learning, etc.) to explore geographical, hydrological, and geomorphological phenomena, especially in extreme events like floods. He has published over 16 research papers in renowned journals, presented 6 research outputs at international conferences, and currently has 4 articles under review. His hobbies are playing outdoor/indoor games, swimming, gardening, cycling, hiking, etc.
