Peter Pan Character Study

For this final product, 3rd grade students studied the character traits of various characters from the Peter Pan story, created bio poems about a character, and created an art collage. A bio poem is one that gives biographical information about one person. Below are the main steps in the process to the bio poem and, following that, student artwork.

Step 1: Students completed a note catcher on their selected character.

Step 2: Student completed a Bi-Poem template, recording additional details about their character.

Step 3: Students wrote their character's Bio Poem.

Art Character Collage

In Art, students created “Character Collages”. Students looked at different visual representations of Peter Pan characters from several plays and movies. This helped them get some ideas to use in their final project. The class then created characters based on their own individual interpretations from the text. This project also focused on using mixed materials. Students thought about the setting to create the background.
