Dear Parents & Families,

I hope this message finds you and your loved ones well. As we begin a new year together, I would like to extend my warmest wishes to you all for a happy, healthy, and fulfilling 2026. A new year offers an opportunity for reflection, renewal and purpose, and it has been a pleasure to welcome our students back to school with such positivity and enthusiasm.

Now that we are already two weeks into the new term, it has been wonderful to see how quickly students have settled back into routines and expectations. Classrooms are calm, purposeful, and focused, and there is a strong sense of momentum across the school as learning resumes with clarity and intent. Our priority remains ensuring that every child feels safe, valued, and supported, while being challenged to grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a nurturing and aspirational environment.

Over the past term, our new leadership team has now been fully in place, and together we have begun implementing several important changes across the school. Some of these developments are already visible, while others form part of a longer-term improvement journey that will continue to unfold over time. At the heart of this work is a shared commitment to excellence, consistency, and care; and a clear ambition to take GIS confidently into its next stage of growth.

Central to this journey is our partnership with you, our parents. We firmly believe that schools are strongest when families and educators work together with trust, transparency, and shared purpose. As such, we are keen to ensure that parents feel informed, engaged and genuinely included as partners in the ongoing development of the school.

To support this, we are pleased to invite you to a Parent Engagement Session, taking place on Monday 26 January at 6:00pm or Tuesday 3 February at 8:30am, both held in the Senior Hub. All members of our Senior Leadership Team will be in attendance, alongside our Student Leadership Team. This will be an excellent and unmissable opportunity for parents to engage in meaningful dialogue, ask questions, and contribute to a truly collaborative approach as we move forward together. Please indicate your preference for the session on the form here.

We are looking forward to our upcoming World Cultures Day on 31 January, which promises to be a vibrant celebration of the diversity that makes our community so special. We encourage families to register once the details are shared and warmly invite extended family members to join us in celebrating the cultures, traditions and stories that enrich our school.

As we continue this journey, it is important to recognise the powerful impact of parental engagement. Research consistently shows that when parents are actively involved in school life, students demonstrate stronger academic outcomes, improved wellbeing, greater confidence, and a deeper sense of belonging. Your involvement truly makes a difference, not only to individual learners, but to the strength of our whole school community.

Thank you for your continued trust, support, and partnership. We are excited about the year ahead and look forward to working closely with you as we strive to provide the very best for our students.

With warm regards and best wishes for the year ahead,

Nevita Pandya
