This is a wonderful opportunity for students and families to proudly share their heritage, learn from one another, and come together in a spirit of unity and respect.

KHDA has requested that all schools share the attached information following recent observations of potentially dangerous physical behaviours among school aged children.

We kindly ask for your active support in discussing these risks with your children and encouraging safe and responsible decision-making both at school and at home. At school, all staff will be sharing the same information with students.

Please note that serious incidents may require referral to the relevant external authorities.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Greetings from the GIS Clinic. We would like to extend our best wishes to you and your family for a prosperous and healthy New Year.

As we begin the new term, we would like to share some important health guidelines to help maintain the safety and wellbeing of all students at school.

Please help your child maintain healthy routines at home by making sure they get enough sleep, eat balanced meals, stay active, and drink plenty of water.
Reinforce good hand hygiene and personal cleanliness to help reduce the spread of illness.
Students should remain at home if they have a fever, flu-like symptoms, persistent cough, rash, red eyes, vomiting, diarrhea, or any contagious illness. This supports their recovery and helps protect the wider school community.
Any medication required during school hours must be coordinated through the school clinic and supported by valid medical documentation. Students should not carry medications in their bags.
Parents are kindly reminded to ensure that their child’s medical records, vaccination status, and emergency contact details are kept up to date in line with UAE school health requirements.
During the influenza season, we strongly recommend the annual flu vaccination and advise that children rest at home if they feel unwell.

If your child has received any recent vaccinations or medical updates, please share the relevant documentation (in English) with the school clinic to ensure accurate health records.

As part of our ongoing commitment to student health and safety, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA), in collaboration with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), will be conducting a virtual parental awareness session.

The session aims to support parents with essential knowledge and practical strategies to identify early warning signs, take preventive measures, and effectively address risky behaviors among children.

Photo Consent Preferences

Reminder: Please update your child's 'Photo Consent Preferences' via the GEMS Connect app, to ensure your child has permission to be featured in school marketing photos and videos.

To update your preferences, please follow the steps below:

Open GEMS Connect app

Click on Student Information icon

Click on General Consent (the consent tab is the very last option and will require you to scroll across)

Select Photographs and videos

Select your preference for your child

We require all parents to have manually ticked either 'yes' or 'no' for their child's photo consent.

WhatsApp Channels

Primary and Secondary WhatsApp Channels for our GIS community. These Channels will run on WhatsApp, meaning you will be able to manage your own notification settings and access the updates easily.

It is important to note that only our Parent Relations Executive, Helen Gornall, will be able to post messages to

these Channels and this will only be to share announcements/updates applicable. We encourage you to check

the relevant Channels regularly to remain informed about the latest developments.
