Dear Parents,
We hope this message finds you and your families safe and well.
We wanted to take a moment to say a sincere thank you for your support this week. The way our community has come together, with such care, patience and commitment to learning, has meant a great deal. It has been especially encouraging to see how positively students have engaged in general, and we know that is only possible because of the partnership we share with you at home.
As we move forward, we will continue to focus on keeping learning purposeful and engaging for our students, with clear routines, strong starts to lessons, and regular opportunities for connection and feedback. Please continue to connect with us if you are having challenges, your feedback and support matters to us. Thank you for all of the supportive messages of gratitude and celebration for the success you have had.
A gentle reminder that re-enrolment is now open. We would really appreciate you completing this when you are able, as it helps us plan ahead and make sure you have a space . We also understand that this can be a challenging time for some families, so if you would like to talk through tuition fees or need any support, please do reach out to our Finance Team (finance_gis@gemsedu.com). They are there to help and will always approach conversations with care and understanding.
We are currently working carefully on a safe return to campus including assessing safe areas, training staff and having good systems in place to communicate promptly with the families: full details will follow as soon as we can. We are hopeful this will be from Monday 20 April, but will wait for confirmation from the Ministry of Education and KHDA before sharing further details with you.
As we head into the weekend, we hope that you are able to take some time to rest and be together as a family.
Thank you again for your trust, your support and for everything you are doing.
Warm regards,
Aaron and Mirna

GIS Jaguar Squad Communication
We are pleased to announce the launch of the Official Jaguars WhatsApp Community. This will serve as a broadcast-only channel where coaches can share quick updates about fixtures, cancellations, logistics, and key dates.
Attached, you will find a QR code to join the Jaguars Community. Once you have joined, please also select and join the squad(s) your son or daughter is currently part of. This will allow your child’s coach to share relevant updates directly with you.
Please note that this number is used for broadcast messages only and will not support two-way conversations. Scan the QR code or follow this link: https://chat.whatsapp.com/HBITTrjtqv5ITdKtNHvped?mode=wwt
Photo Consent Preferences
Reminder: Please update your child's 'Photo Consent Preferences' via the GEMS Connect app, to ensure your child has permission to be featured in school marketing photos and videos.
To update your preferences, please follow the steps below:
Open GEMS Connect app
Click on Student Information icon
Click on General Consent (the consent tab is the very last option and will require you to scroll across)

Select your preference for your child
We require all parents to have manually ticked either 'yes' or 'no' for their child's photo consent.
WhatsApp Channels
Primary and Secondary WhatsApp Channels for our GIS community. These Channels will run on WhatsApp, meaning you will be able to manage your own notification settings and access the updates easily.
It is important to note that only our Parent Relations Executive, Helen Gornall, will be able to post messages to
these Channels and this will only be to share announcements/updates applicable. We encourage you to check
the relevant Channels regularly to remain informed about the latest developments.
We are introducing new trousers and joggers, which will be available through Threads from next academic year. In the meantime, students may wear plain navy blue trousers as part of the core uniform and plain navy blue joggers for the PE uniform if they wish.
GIS house color t-shirts and swim wear will be available to purchase from threads.
