With Literacy Interventions as a district focus for the 2025-2025 school year, this 5-day intensive workshop is designed to kelp K-12 teachers accelerate reading and writing growth for students performing below grade level, including those facing additional social, emotional, or behavioral challenges. Each day focuses on building foundational skills and offers in-depth learning on research-based strategies and best practices for effective literacy interventions.

This 3-day collaborative work session will focused on localizing the Sprockets curriculum for K-8 grades. Teachers who have previously used or been trained in Sprockets will work in grade-level teams to customize one unit per grade, integrating culturally relevant content, images, and references from Guam and the broader Oceania region. Finalized units will be shared on the Educurious website as part of an accessible resource library for educators across the Pacific.

This course equips educators with the skills to effectively integrate audio-visual tools and podcasting into their classroom instruction. Participants will learn the fundamentals of podcast creation—from planning and recording to publishing—as well as the ethical considerations of filming in educational settings. The training will also cover basic AV techniques, storytelling strategies, and ways to enhance student engagement through multimedia learning experiences.

ROBOTICS in the Secondary Classroom

This 2-day hands-on session is designed for 6–12 grade math and science teachers who are new to teaching robotics or those seeking a refresher. Participants will explore the basics of using LEGO Education SPIKE™ Prime kits, including hardware setup, programming fundamentals, and task-based challenges. Through guided practice, teachers will learn how to support students in designing, building, and coding their own robots. LEGO kits will be provided for the training.

The Guam ESports Federation is excited to support the integration of esports into high school programs by offering a structured training opportunity for GDOE teachers. This 2-day “Introduction to Esports” course provides participants with a foundational understanding of the esports ecosystem and its potential as an educational and student development tool. Sessions will cover the basics of esports, its role in fostering teamwork and discipline, and practical considerations for incorporating esports into school activities.
To further build capacity, participants will also have the option to enroll in the Esports Coaching Development and Certification Program, a comprehensive 20-hour training based on the internationally recognized FITGMR curriculum. This program includes presentations, case studies, quizzes, and assignments to prepare educators to coach and mentor student esports teams effectively.
Other: Space is limited to 20 participants. Schools who have participating teachers who complete all session days and requirements will receive ESports equipment.
