Every job requires computer skills. Students who enroll in this program will have an advantage as they are prepared to earn Microsoft Office Certification in 5 areas. Students will learn skills that prepare for long-term employability skills. Job simulation, project-based learning, and hands-on classroom activities will keep students engaged while learning 21st century skills.
Pathway Courses
Course 1--Introduction to Business & Technology
This course is designed for high school students as a gateway to the career pathway that teaches an overview of business and 21st century technology skills required for today’s business environment. Knowledge of business principles, the impact of financial decisions, and technology proficiencies demanded by business combine to establish the elements of this course. Emphasis is placed on developing proficient fundamental computer skills, such as Microsoft Word, required for all career pathways.
Course 2--Business & Technology
Become an asset to the collaborative, global, and innovative business world of today and tomorrow. Emphasis is placed on Mastery use of spreadsheets and the ability to apply leadership skills to make informed business decisions as well as publish industry appropriate documents. Microsoft Certification is available.
Course 3 -- Business Communications
Integrate technology in a variety of formats to gain exposure to resources and software to implement professional communication skills and practices. Learn how to develop presentation skills for 21st century communication. Students will create, edit, and publish professional documents and have the opportunity to become certified in any Microsoft software.
