About
In 1996, the sun came out for the first time on the Gowanda stage with our inaugural production of Annie Jr. This performance brought the beloved story of the optimistic redhead and her search for a family to the community, long before it would return for its 2009 revival. Our students embodied the resilience and hope of the 1930s, tackling a score that has since become a cornerstone of musical theater history.
This production was a milestone for student Creativity, particularly as the cast navigated the transition between the gritty New York City streets and the grand halls of the Warbucks estate. The show required a high level of Collaboration between the young orphans and the principal cast, building a sense of teamwork that has become a hallmark of the Gowanda drama department. It was a heartwarming performance that defined Panther Pride for a new generation of performers. 💙
