About
In 1995, the Gowanda stage became the setting for the musical adventure Castaways. This production took the audience on a journey of survival and discovery, as characters found themselves stranded and forced to build a new society from the ground up. Our students explored themes of Communication and leadership, portraying the challenges and triumphs of a group of people working together to overcome the odds.
The show was a unique exercise in Creativity, particularly in the set design and prop construction, as the "island" had to be built from salvaged-looking materials to reflect the castaways' situation. The success of the production relied heavily on Collaboration, with the ensemble cast creating a believable, tight-knit community on stage. It was a spirited performance that showcased the grit and Panther Pride of the mid-90s drama department. 💙
