About
In 1994, the Gowanda stage went to the frontier with the production of Davy Crockett. This "King of the Wild Frontier" adventure brought the legend of the American folk hero to life, complete with coonskin caps and tales of the old West. Our students explored the grit and storytelling of the early 19th century, delivering a performance that balanced historical legend with theatrical fun.
The production was a showcase of Creativity and Collaboration, as the cast and crew worked to build a rustic, pioneer-era atmosphere within the auditorium. From mastering the folk-style musical numbers to staging the action of the American frontier, our performers demonstrated the focus and energy that have been the foundation of our drama program for decades. It was a spirited performance that brought a sense of adventure and Panther Pride to the stage. 💙
